Nevada Woodchucks made 237 hand made wooden toys!

The “Nevada Woodchucks” just dropped off 237 handmade, wooden toys to Majors Michael and Janene Zielinski at The Salvation Army in Reno, Nevada!

Al Harley, one of the group’s 14 members, said that he and his fellow “chucks” work four days a month to make the intricate and imaginative toys so they can have them ready for delivery in time for Christmas.

They crafted helicopters, tool boxes with tools, semi-trucks, airplanes, doll beds, puzzles, stacking rings and much more. Many of the toys are hand painted too.

The special toys will be given to children this Christmas at the Reno Salvation Army’s annual Christmas distribution event, held December 20 – 23rd.

The Zielinskis are especially grateful to the “Woodchucks” for their hard work and generosity. It certainly comes at a time when it’s desperately needed. Demand for the Army’s services are up in Reno this year by 20%. They estimate that they’ll be helping a whopping 7,800 children this year.
