Sally One serves up cold water, hot coffee, a warm meal and a smile
In fact, she spent three hours last night serving meals, drinks and snacks to the nearly 40 volunteer fire fighters battling a blaze near Stockett, Montana.
Her name is Sally One and she’s pretty well known around Cascade County.
She gets invited to some of the most intimate gatherings of firefighters, police personnel and other first responders because they know she can be trusted to come ready to serve them something to eat and drink along with a warm smile.
Sally One is The Salvation Army’s Emergency / Disaster Services mobile kitchen – we call her a ‘canteen’ – and she’s staffed by Jesse Oldham and his crew of volunteers.
