Homeless kids get their very own birthday cakes, courtesy of CBRE

A birthday girl gets her own cake!

Real estate powerhouse CBRE has a sweet program – called Birthday Cakes and More for Homeless Children- as part of its corporate responsibility plan.

They deliver birthday cakes to kids living in homeless shelters in cities across the US where CBRE staff live and work!

CBRE is serious about the program. Every cake is decorated with the child’s name and it arrives on the very day of their birthday.

If there’s more than one kid with the same birthday at the shelter, then they’ll each get their own cake.

And, they’re committed to giving the same kind of delicious, beautiful cakes they’d give to their own children.

They program is already in several US cities, but recently CBRE rolled it out in Los Angeles.

We’re thrilled that they chose The Salvation Army’s Zahn Memorial Center, the only emergency family shelter in downtown, to launch their LA effort. The photo above is of Zahn’s first birthday cake celebration.

We look forward to many more delicious cakes and birthday celebrations for the kids who call our Zahn Family Shelter home. Thank you CBRE for your thoughtful and powerful program to give homeless kids great birthday treats and wonderful memories.
