Salvation Army band marches in Rose Parade for 95th year!
In addition to having one of the coveted spots, The Salvation Army has the longest-serving band in the parade’s history. Ninety-five years!
This year, band members from the Army in Pasadena are joined by two young musicians from each of our 40 divisions around the United States as well as a guest band from Southern Australia.
Look for The Salvation Army band members – dressed in red “festival tunics” – at position 32 out of 89 total parade participants.
My colleague John Docter attended a recent dress rehearsal and took these beautiful images of the band practicing parade music. Click on the white arrow to view the images.
When The Salvation Army’s Tournament of Roses Band reaches the viewing stand you’ll hear them play “Stand Up for Jesus” as a testimony to the Army’s mission to preach the Gospel around the world.
Happy New year!
