Real estate pros make life better for neighbors thru The Salvation Army
What started as a small initiative by a handful of North Dakota and Minnesota realtors in 2010 has now grown to a 26 state effort. Amazing!

The Sacramento Association of Realtors raises money all year long for their Christmas CanTree drive which culminates in the building of giant Christmas trees made entirely of canned foods. Have a look at the CanTree here.
This year, they raised a whopping $90,000 for The Salvation Army to spend feeding hungry people in Sacramento. God bless the Sacramento Association of Realtors!
In Phoenix, the Army is blessed with a superstar volunteer Board Member who’s contributed more to our ministry than just about any other person I can think of: Marlene Klotz Collins. That’s her in the video above.
Last year, she sat down to a friendly lunch with Joseph and JoAnn Calloway to talk about the work of the Army and our red kettles. Marlene explained that Wednesdays were a tough day to recruit volunteers for the kettles so the Calloways committed to change that. Thus, Real Estate Wednesdays was born!
Last year, 1,000 real estate agents, title company officers, lenders, and affiliates came together to ring the bells at more than 180 kettle locations throughout Maricopa County. They raised $117,000 and saved the Army the expense of hiring hourly workers to staff the kettles that weren’t covered by volunteers.
They’re ringing each of the four Wednesdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you’d like to help on December 10th, 17th or 24th, please visit the Real Estate Wednesday website and sign up!
Real estate professionals are working hard in EVERY community in the US to make life better for people. We simply can't thank them enough for the wonderful work they do through The Salvation Army on Realtor Ring Day, Real Estate Wednesdays and through the Christmas CanTree!
