Like people, companies have values. And they often have hearts too.

Two grocery stores and one beauty product company decided that they could do some good this Christmas season for people in need by going a little above and beyond.

PAQ Inc. Food 4 Less and Rancho San Miguel Markets are long-time supporters of our traditional Red Kettle campaign. But this year, between December 1 and Christmas Eve, they’re doing more. They’ve begun what we call a “pin up” campaign.

Paper red kettles are being sold for $1 dollar at the register to raise money to care for neighbors who are struggling this Christmas. Donors can write their name on the kettle and then pin it up on the wall of the store as a visual reminder of the good donors do through The Salvation Army.

The totals aren’t in yet, but we know that 18 stores received 1,000 paper kettles and several have already requested more!

To participate in the campaign, check your local Food 4 Less or Rancho San Miguel Market if you live in Stockton, Lodi, Manteca, Ceres, Los Banos, Salinas, San Luis Obispo, Atascadero, Paso Robles, Modesto, Greenfield, Merced or Madera, California.

Utah-based start up Jamberry Nails donated a portion of Black Friday profits from the sale of their beautiful fingernail wrap products.

When all the totals came in, their gift to The Salvation Army added up to a whopping $110,000! The donation will be shared with Salvation Army units across the US and in Canada.

We want to thank these terrific companies for caring about people through The Salvation Army.
